About
Philosophy Going Wild is my new Substack. My name is Mara-Daria Cojocaru and I like to think of myself as a dry-nosed primate. Perhaps you do, too.
I am a runaway philosopher, German poet, kind of self-exiled in England, hobby zoologist and passionate about human-animal-relations, especially with wild living animals. I have worked for two decades in academia, still teach a little and, after a stint in the dog-training industry, am waiting to start up the Institute for Animal-Informed Philosophy in the UK. I am also a fellow and virtual writer in residence at PAN as well as a member of the (Women) In Parenthesis network.
I will use this Substack to share my own philosophical essays, interviews with or guest posts from collaborators, field guides for animal-informed learning experiences, and the latest from multispecies poetry. I aim to publish one of these each week; none of the posts should take you much more time than noting and naming all the animals in your view. Occasionally, I will also post about upcoming events and workshop opportunities, though I tend to do that on Instagram (@maradariacojocaru). Feel free to follow me there, too.
I still come to German-speaking countries for readings and workshops on a regular basis. If you are interested in my page poetry, feel free to get in touch with my publishers: Schöffling & Co. and hochroth Heidelberg. You can also contact me directly for engagements.
If you are interested in multispecies poetry or proposing any other talks or workshops, feel free to write me an email. I have ample speaking experience and enjoy experimenting with various audiences.
Why subscribe?
Honestly, it would make me kind of happy but you would also get full access to the newsletter and publication archives.
